While we are on the subject of Digital raw files I just remembered something I wanted to ask for a while.
Do all raw file conversion programs convert only to color and up-rez the image? Reason I ask is wouldn't there be some image qualtiy gains for monochrome output by summing the 4 rgbg pixels into one and outputting a true 1.5 Mpixel mono signal (4 rgbg pixels per output pixels) instead of a interpolated color signal that is later desaturated?????
