I don't buy that. I tend to feel that showing their face is more honest in some ways. At least you're not trying to catch them when they're not looking. I've found that very few homeless people object to having their picture taken, although I would never shoot someone just because they're homeless. But when I find something of interest, Like you, I sometimes engage the person first. If I do go for a candid, and they object, I simply delete it and apologize.
