A school project at a very early age that gave me an excuse to ask for a camera I suspect; then the realisation I could capture places and moments outside and bring them indoors to keep. My father took very good natural pictures of people - essentially family and friends for decades - and had the ability for them to appear as if they were never aware of a camera recording the scene. This gave me an idea of photography although my interest has always been towards landscape and images of buildings and places over time. Although this will sound rather odd, my main interest is why my father one day put his camera away as usual and never took it out and used it again. As I get older, I think I'm beginning to understand why. Malcolm
