When I read about what people are doing to secure their digitized and digital files I realize that I could never do all that on a regular basis. Film just comes back from the lab or my kitchen, gets sleeved in any one of a couple of ways, and the sleeved film is just put into an envelope with the pic info written on it. Then i just throw 'em into a file cabinet where they remain until i want them for some reason. Worst case scenario is that I thumb through a few envelopes.
This digital thing is no time or money saver for me. Yeah, I'd save a few bucks on film but DVD's are almost as expensive, and when one adds hard drives, programs for "managing" files, time spent in front of the computer, I wonder if being a lazy digital shooter is really saving much of anything. Y'know what I miss about having my pics on a CD, DVD, or HDD? I miss holding the negs up to the light to see what they look like. In order to see what I've got, the 'puter needs to be fired up. Sometimes, if I get a CD back from the lab, I find myself starting to hold it up to the light <LOL> Shel > [Original Message] > From: William Robb <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > To: <pentax-discuss@pdml.net> > Date: 7/30/2005 10:33:39 PM > Subject: Re: Backing Up and Storing Files > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "David Savage" > Subject: Re: Backing Up and Storing Files > > > > Just like film eh? > > The nice thing about film is that it doesn't require "back ups". > > William Robb
