The 8th or 9th works best for me as well. And I'd vote for SF over Sausalito as well.

I'm in if it is the 8 or 9. I'm arriving in SFO from Madrid on the 1st

I expect.

I think I proposed something like this with Juan Buhler a week or so
ago. He's not available until around October, I believe.

I'd rather do something in SF rather than Sausalito, if you want to
do street photography. Sausalito has few places for such work where
SF has many.

I've got to check schedules on a few other things I'm interested in
attending before I can answer on dates. I'll take a look this evening.

I may dump my 300D and get an XT, or a 20D when the new Canon comes
out and
others dump their 20Ds. Or I may consider dumping all my Canon gear
and getting
a DS (the price is now right). I do love my 28-135 IS Canon zoom,
so maybe
not.

What I'd like to do is borrow someone's DS for a day.

So Bruce and I were discussing this and he suggested another NorCal
PDML meet
where maybe some kind soul could lend me one for a day. :-)

September is very busy for me, so I would prefer early Oct. 1-2, or
8-9. Of
course, there is no way to tell what the weather will be like then.
But I don't
believe we are headed into an early wet winter. But who knows? If
pushed, I
could possibly do Sept. 22-23, but I would prefer early October.

Would Oct. 1 or 2, or 8 or 9 work for people?

We also thought going to Sausalito might be fun.

Lots of boats, good places to eat, and also stop along the coast to
try for
some shots of the Golden Gate bridge (I am not sure how far that
end is from
the downtown but I don't think it's far.) Personally, I haven't
been to
Sausalito for years, and years, so I do not know what it is like
now. But it's a
pretty area.

Bruce said he had suggested to Godfrey and Shel that they give us some
instruction and concepts on street shooting (people shooting) at
the next PDML meet.

Sounds good. It would be more tourists, than anything. But that
might be a
good way for us non-street shooters to practice. As I remember
there are always
lots of people in Sausalito.

So the dates? And does Sausalito sound okay?

Shel, if you need a ride, contact me off-list. Bygones are bygones.
If fact,
maybe anyone who wants to respond more personally re dates or
destination
should contact me off-list (ie has a problem with either). Or not.
Up to you.
