Like Frank said, there's a cultural crevice here. I'm intrigued by the shots, and I don't understand the criticism from Shel and Michel at all. Seems to me like they meet your images with a preconception on what the place means to them, rather than opening up to what you have observed.

To me, the four shots together makes me curious about the place. Hope you're not stopping this series. I'd like to see what more you observe there.

I can understand making the shot, and, as noted, I like it. But seeing Neve Tzedek, rather than walls and falling down signs, would be a more satisfying experience. Show us the character of the city, the shops, the streets, the homes, how the people live in this historic area. Otherwise,
you can call the series "Walls I Have Photographed"
