I must confess too. A friend is going to Vanuatu for his wedding anniversary and
wanted a new DSLR. He only had an optio digicam, and no lenses. I _wanted_ to
recommend the DS, but really could justify it except for the $500 difference
with the Canon 350D/18-55mm kit.

The only other two reasons I had were the Limited lenses, which he is not likely
to buy, and the viewfinder. He tried both cameras and couldn't see much
difference in the brightness or size.

The 350D landed yesterday, and he is chuffed, to say the least.
