PS I forgot to mention that I did upgrade the firmware of the istD when I got it (2 years ago). Are they shipping the new istD cameras with upgraded firmware now or do you still have to upgrade by yourself? I really don't think the firmware could be causing this problem, but as I say, my camera tends to cooperate with me even without a card in the camera.
