James, Same people who were saying two years ago that Pentax was doomed because they lacked a digital SLR are the gloom and doom mavens of today. Buy an *ist digital and use it with your Pentax glass. Bigger and better digital stuff will come along every 6 to 18 months. You won't want to spend your money on it. In 5 years, the *ist Ds really will be obsolete and you can change brands them. My bet is you will replace it with a newer Pentax digital because the value is in the brand. This market is still very fluid and you don't need to chase it. I get a big smile on my face when people here talk about puting their screwmount Pentax lenses on their digitals.
