No, John, I've never had the "opportunity" (<g>) of having to defeat the dreaded Ricoh pin. Not yet, anyhoo... There are a couple methods shown at http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/read.asp?forum=1036&message=17137657 . The main one illustrated there is a non-reversible one that involves plugging the pinhole after the pin is taken out. Also discussed is a probably not reversible "super glue with pin in situ" method (that I'd be more inclined to try, if I had to). Fred
