I have two quibbles with the 16-45:

First, it is both bigger and heavier than the 24-90,
which was plenty big and heavy for me (don't look for
me to be carrying f/2.8 zooms around anytime soon!).

Second, it zooms backwards:  barrel is all the way in
at 45mm, all the way out at 16mm.  As Toine said, it
doesn't play nicely with the popup flash for that
reason.

However, it takes very nice pix, and it's my most-used
lens on the D.
