But you're still missing his point -- you're not factoring in the cost 
of printing the slides or negs.

Personally, I (gasp) pretty much agree with you here: I don't buy the 
'free' argument.  I still shoot film, and I intend to for some time 
still, especially since the 6x7 transparencies I shot over the weekend 
look so nice and scanned really beautifully.  Time to make some big 
prints!

I do, however, believe digital to be an excellent alternative to the 
colour darkroom.  No one's gettin' me off of that horse. ;)

Mafud, do you want in on the PDML digital challenge, too?  You're a big 
proponent of the wet darkroom, I'd like to try to blast your socks off 
with one of these prints.
