I have the optional back on my SF1, which includes and intervalometer. Have 
never used it in taking several thousand images.

I bought the back because it allowed identifying the images with 
alpha-numerics for sequential purposes.

I'm surprised more of these wonder cameras don't have it.  It should be
easy enough to implement in software since they all have most of the
required functions implemented already.
