The current digital cameras certainly fill the needs for some purposes but they cant do everthing film SLRs can. They cant: 1. Be fitted with ultra wide lens 2. shoot at ultra high speed (ASA 3200 ) 3. Work without a battery 4. Shoot stereo photography 5. Create slides There must be some other limitations I've not listed.
