I played around with the Pickture Package thing in Photoshop CS (7) and found 
out:
1. I can make a Picture Pacage from all images in an image folder automatically.
2. I can change/customize the layout I wnat to use (combination of image sizes 
in each package).
This is actually what I want. And I think it works great.
My only concern is, that the final package sizes seem to be unchangeable (?). That's a pity, since I want to use the very same paper sizes, that my photo dealer offers. I'll get my new EPSON printer next week (just a small, cheep one). Perhaps I can find the rigt sizes for this.

The Photoshop tutorial that led me to Picture Packages was on how to create additional custom packages if the default ones wouldn't fit what you needed. The package layouts are stored in text files.

It explained the notation Photoshop uses to guide a layout and where to save the ones you write.
