So, the first past of this is a test, because I have send 4 messages to pdml@pdml.net in the past 2 days and not a single one seems to get through. I am on a mac using mail, so I don't know if that means I need to do something special, but this is my last try to get messages through.

If you are unsure about the text-ability of a message for PDML, Select All (Command-A) and press Command-Shift-T to convert everything in the message body to plain text.

You don't need to select all. Command-Shift-T changes the editing window's operating mode such that anything sent will be sent as a plain text message.

It's a toggle, btw: it cycles an editing window's mode back and forth between Rich Text and Plain Text modes. A simple thing to do if you use both kinds of mail messages is to use the "View->Customize Toolbar..." command and drag the {Rich Text | Plain Text} toggle button to the editing window's toolbar. That way you can see at a glance whether a message you are editing is Rich or Plain Text.

Regards the DA10-17 Fisheye zoom ... I never really know what I'm going to do with a fish-eye lens so I'm always loathe to spend money on one. Yet when I have one at my disposal, it incites me to make some interesting photographs. The 10-17 is a very high quality lens, so if you like having this kind of lens in your kit, be assured that it's worth the money.
