I owned an A*300 f/2.8 for a number of years and during that time made a few halfhearted efforts to sell it. I do have a couple of keepers that I wouldn't have if I hadn't lugged it all over the North American continent for so long. Finally sold it about two year ago. I, then, lusted after the DA*60~250 for a couple years. Thankfully, during my wait I came to my senses and bought the DA*50~135. Much more practical for my type of shooting. I'm now glad I "waited". What a wonderful lens it is!

I want both, but I'm a lens pig.

I have it confirmed by TeKaDe the price of the 60-250 will
be 999 euros
or perhaps even less then that.
Sometimes I wonder if the 50-135 wouldnt be a better
choice, given an
extra stop and it is available.

Yes, on eBay, but for about $1700 or more.
I see a Tamron 70-200mm F2.8 SP Di-LD for 599
euro,
and a Sigma 70-200mm F2.8 II EX DG APO HSM for 659
euro, this lens has
hypersonic drive.

Anyone that has experience with either one of
these?

I know you are referring to the 80-200 here for $1700,
but for that
money, i can get a D300 and drip, and use lenses i
already have.:--)
I hear the 60-250 will sell around $1200-1300, some
were around there.
I think that's to much, considering i can now get
a 50-135 for less
than 1K here.

There is an 80-200/2.8 on eBay right now...

Is there any news about the
availability of this lens? I pre ordered
with TeKaDe, it was suppose to arrive
around Christmas, de price has gone
down in the mean time, and TeKaDe has
no idea when the lens will arrive. I
wonder if I should go for another
lens, Tamron or Tokina, don't know who has
a nice alternative.
