The fact that it is the same design as something used before doesn't change how it looks to me - but, again, I'll state that I haven't used it so its ease of usage may in fact be far different from what I am inferring from a photo! It's the sync cover socket, and it is fiddly. I've lost mine twice, and have managed to only find it once. I don't think there really is a good solution. They've put a PC socket onto the camera, but they also want to maintian some weatherproofing in that area, so a waterproof plug that won't fall out easily is called for. It also can't protrude very much or else it becomes a snag item. William Robb
