generally you can guess pretty well from the basic spec; in my recent research going through dozens of monitors, none of those with 178 degrees horizontal and vertical viewing angle were TN panels; also all of those with 2ms pixel response *were* TN; some brands have a model naming system that helps, for example i believe all Dell UltraSharp models are IPS or VA (though i've otherwise had bad experience counting on monitor specs on Dell's site)
that should at least let you narrow your search; i would do careful research on your final candidates
