Does it have any PCI cards for scuzzy or USB 2.0 ports? Belkin cards in 
particular cause startup problems. Is the scanner an Epson? Lots of trouble 
getting their drivers to work with some Mac OS versions.

I still can't get used to Lightroom. But I almost always do some PhotoShop work 
on stills in addition to conversion, so Im happy with my PhotoShop workflow. 
Lightroom would just add an extra step for me.
