Since the Finder is the standard tool delivered by Apple with Mac OS X
for manipulating files on the system, it uses the "rock solid"
libraries and graphics engine supplied by the operating system to
display what it can display. What it can't display, it doesn't ...
it's that simple.

If people add faulty junk to a system that causes the system to lock
up, well, that's not the fault of the system.
