We have about half dozen such accidents every year or so. It is the saddest lost related to transportation and cars. So, Paul, your article is right on target although I much rather you had more reason for frivolous writing.

As for the safety system. My car detects an occupant on every seat. Presently it tells me that someone is not buckled up by sign on the dashboard and by sound. I don't think it will be too difficult to integrate between this and car alarm so that if you arm your alarm and someone is still detected as sitting in the car, the alarm will trigger right away. If car has no alarm, it can be attached to car horn...

Hopefully, the more publicity it gets the less news of this kind will come to be.
