Yeah, that was sort of my (implicit) point. If I could legally and safely drive that fast elsewhere, I would. But I can't, so I'm there with the crowd, because that's when and where I'm allowed to legally and can do it safely. So it's similar to racing on say a famous 'drome or road circuit on bicycles or foot, but different in that there's no (legal and safe) alternative with the cars.
