Some do manage some do not.
I tried myself right now. Indeed this is at least tricky. Sometimes
OK, sometimes nothing sometimes the body is confused and constantly
changes from MF to AF-S/AF-C and that way will focus (with
screwdrive).

All this is quite, well I wouldn't play more but if I do have an SDM
problem.This isn't a 'reliable' (funny word considering the
problematic) work around to me.
