Liz,

I find myself shooting hockey more often than I'd prefer, actually,
since my daughter plays.  :) You might be shooting a faster-moving
game than her U10 team usually plays, but the same challenges apply
for finding a good angle, I'm guessing.

If you can get close to the bench, where the players are, you might be
able to find a spot where you can shoot without having to shoot
through the glass.  I'd suggest cozying up to the coach & asking for
access.  While the players are warming up is a good time to try some
shots there... depending on the game, you might not get access there
later...  I have also had some luck shooting through the glass, behind
the net.  It's a different perspective on the goal, anyway.

I'm off to hockey practice right now... I'll keep an eye open for other ideas...
