"prepared for the unexpected" is a cliché, but it sort of fits, doesn't it?

Cotty has said to me a couple of times about street shooting that "if
you see a moment, it's gone". By the time you get ready to shoot it,
that is. He's a master of short-term previsualisation, and that fits
the style of street shooting well. Bet Knarf is good at this too. I'm
not. instead, my brain works better by concentrating on a more narrow
set of long-term previsualisations (for lack of a better term...) and
pursue those while ignoring other stuff.
