If there is no mirror, it's pretty hard to have an optical viewfinder. Unless you are talking about it being a rangefinder (which I don't see Pentax doing), without a mirror, it's going to be an EVF.
I doubt that Pentax has anything to do with these rumors. People love to speculate.
