I find Bruce's comment bothersome. (Sorry Bruce.) Pentax would never abandon the SLR format completely, but I'm not so sure about Ricoh. I hope they would at least run both for a while before completely converting to mirrorless.
in ten years or less i expect SLRs to to be obsolete (ie, no longer produced, though many will still use them)
