When I saw the first, I thought Larry expects to be engraved for the new US currency.

#2. Set up your tripod. Sit where you'll be posing. Bring camera to
your eye and focus on the head of the tripod. Turn off AF. Mount the

That is a great idea! I wish I had known about it 8 years ago when I was doing
self portraits with my SRT-101 by standing a broom handle where I was going to
stand, focused on it, then set the timer.

For what it's worth, here are a few from this afternoon:

When there is noone else around to photograph, self portraits can be a way to
experiment with lighting, however when it comes to actually getting decent
photos, I keep running into three problems:

1) Framing, I just have to set the camera wide and hope that most of what I
want is in the frame.

2) Focus, It's a hell of a lot easier using a camera with autofocus, but even
so the camera keeps focusing perfectly, on the wrong thing.

3) My biggest challenge is that self portraiture is like trying to make a silk
purse out of a sows ear, or perhaps the whole face.

Don't lose heart, they might want to cut it out, and they'll want to avoid a
lengthly search.
