I used to work on these cars ... Jaguar XK120: <http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/e/e7/Jaguar_XK_120,_Bj._1953,_Nürb'ring_Südschleife_(2008-06-28).jpg>
Jaguar XK140: <http://static.cargurus.com/images/site/2009/03/24/03/32/1957_jaguar_xk140-pic-45417.jpeg> Note the differences in the body/fender line and the windshield in particular, and in the grill. Dan's photo presented here was an XK120. There was also the Jaguar XK150: <http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/f/fe/Jaguar_XK150_Roadster_black.jpg> That was the last series prior to the original XK-E Type. The XK120 was a pig to drive, but a delight to look at. I do remember vividly the time when I was picking up a customer's car and he points to the fire extinguisher ... "Be sure you know where this is." Prophetic: a fire broke out in the engine compartment on my way to the shop, luckily I was able to put it out before anything was damaged. ;-) G On Oct 29, 2013, at 12:29 PM, kwal...@peoplepc.com wrote: >> What makes you think an XK140 rather than a 120? > > Paul, its mainly, from the images on the web, the 120 has prominent curvature > at the beltline, on the top of the door, while the 140 door is basically a > straight line at the beltline. > > BTW Dan's image looks like it has only bumperettes - no bumper at all. > > Kenneth Waller > http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/kennethwaller > > ----- Original Message ----- From: "Paul Stenquist" <pnstenqu...@comcast.net> > Subject: Re: Red Flash > > >> HI Ken.
