I've been researching the 3880 as I do expect my R2400 to die soon. It's very old. For me, the question is between the 3800 and the 3000, since I so rarely print larger than an 11x17.
Between the 3800 and 3880 printers, they take the same ink cartridges, physically, but the inks are different with respect to the magentas.
