These have been most fascinating threads showing much emotion. But the world moves on & clearly from a business perspective it makes no sense to look back. The K1000D is but a pipedream. If people really want to use pre-"A" lenses, they can easily work in M mode and use Sunny 16 like we all did long ago (& waste no film). "A" lenses are no problem besides being MF. The fusspots can always post-edit the EXIF. Does anyone really need or use an aperture ring any more? (PJ's "intelligent" adaptors could be made by a third party! Old Pentax lenses with adaptors are widely used on Can*ns with great success). And I agree - get the cameras in the shops - it's almost Christmas.

Ricoh is not going to bring back the aperture simulator. Give it up
and stop whining about it already!

Supporting old lenses is not good for business, no matter how many old
farts like JCO try to insist otherwise. Ricoh is in the business of
selling cameras and NEW lenses, and their profits lie mostly in the
latter. You should be appreciative of what support they've given and
move on with your life. This is as good as it's going to get.

Bullshit whining like this is why I'm a lurker here, rather than an
active member like I was years ago. Cranky old farts complaining about
new technology does not make for a fun environment for discussion.
