If the pipes (or the solder in the pipes, are causing high levels of lead
in the water, the amount in a "splash: of water added to whisky is a minor
concern, compared to the other uses of water for drinking, cooking, making
teas and coffee, etc.  Even lead can be filtered out.  I highly recommend
testing the water supply for lead and other contaminants, but not because
of the small amount of water used to enliven my whisky.
