The incidence of fatal blood clotting is approx 1 in a million. The incidence
of blood clotting from taking the birth control pill (say) is 1 in 1000. Too
low to be worried about it.
The news I've read about it says they know what causes the blood clots &
apparently a simple standard blood test will reveal if you have the condition
that will lead to the clotting reaction (high red blood cell count IIRC).
They should be able to screen for the vulnerability and give those people a
different vaccine.
