The first camera I owned was a Pentax, but I parted with it many years ago and didn't miss it much. When I decided to splurge and treat myself a couple of years ago, the camera I picked came after a lot of research and keeping track of what lenses seemed to offer a "look" I liked. The top two brands on my list were Contax and Pentax. Economics and a wider range of lenses gave Pentax an edge. I still don't think I could have picked much better than the ZX-5n and FA35/2 that I opted for. Cheerfully, Dan Scott
