i haven't been called yet, i have 2 99SE seats and one DXP
but i am starting to think that maybe i should have been doing PADs all these years
it seems that everyone i am working with lately uses PADs and no one that i encounter in the last year or so uses protel / altium
this has made for some unpleasant business situations (lost work)
and BTW the power plane DRC thing i mentioned a few days ago (no one replied!) has me wondering about the real capabilities of protel vs powerpcb
as the price point is starting to approach pads i think they may be in for a rude awakening

Brad,
Altium is checking as how many of you would upgrade if the price jumps up. Did they offer a round trip to Australia for two together with the upgrade? Or maybe they forgot to tell you that the price was included...

Hi guys, Well I got a personal call from Altium this week
to advise me of changing policies. As of June/July, all upgrade paths from P99SE (or earlier versions) to DXP will revert to full retail cost ($11,000). Why do they never have a set date when they call you, this is definitely a pattern?
Have the rest of you "hold-outs" been getting
calls as well? Or are they just targeting the prime targets with greater numbers of licenses, so far.
Hi Brad,
I think it is scare tactics, revenue is down, so
tell all the 99SE users they will loose upgrade ability to make some upgrade
and make some nice money.
OR
They are about to release DXP 2005 and stop people
from cheaply jumping a few releases.
Regards,
Kat.
