Leo,
I think I saw that in a Dilbert cartoon once. All kidding aside,
I don't know of a third party package for the visualization, but I have
played around with the 3D part of 99se just for fun and never had it
crash. Are you sure you have the server installed? It will show the
copper and silkscreen info. which I think would be sufficient for the
sales folk. It's not very good for unknown components, which I gather is
anything other than a resistor. Good luck on the multiple silk screens
for that 3-color logo.

Subject: [PEDA] board visualisation

Does anyone out there know of a software package that can visualise a
bare
board from Gerbers? Silkscreen, copper and solder-resist? I tried the
3D-feature but that only crashes my system :(

The sales people now want our (three colour) company logo on all our
PCBs
and they tend to be quite picky: ...can't you make the bottom part
lighter?... ...maybe a larger font for the top portion... ...make it
bigger, no-one can read that... ...that is not the correct font...
...the
text should be lighter... ...can we have that in blue?... etc, etc,
etc.

Since not all our boards have a silkscreen I want to do it in copper and

soldermask but those sales guys want to see how things turn out and I
don't
want to make gazillions of prototypes just for that logo.
