Henry, I find this thread interesting. The 1st protel I purchased was called 2.8 (a windows version), however when I open a pcb file in a text editor it says "PCB File 9 Vesion 2.70". I checked a few and they all start the same. SE takes in my old 2.8 files. If you wish send me one of your files off line and I'll try to open it in 2.8.
