SEPTEMBER (AND BEYOND) JOB NOTICE

       North-South University (NSU) is the first private university to be
 established in Bangladesh. It opened in January 1993 with three programs-
 Business, Economics and Computer Science. Faculty are recruited primarily
 from North America for each semester. However, longer contracts are awarded
 and several faculty have returned to teach a second time. The University
 operates on a year-round basis with three teaching semesters: January -
 April, May - August, and September - December.

       NSU is planning to open a research institute shortly. While the
 mandate of the institute is to deal with all aspects of Economic Develop-
 ment, initial emphasis will be on the Environment,Female Education and
 Public Health.

       North-South University is looking for visiting faculty in September
 1994. Mostly introductory courses will be taught and the normal teaching
 load is four repetitions of one course or two sections of two courses.

The institute also needs a director. 

Time:September 5-December 25

 Remuneration: (U.S. dollar equivalent)

       $1,000 to cover airfare-just about complete for an excursion return fare

       $1,000 per month for M.A./M.Sc.

       $1,500 - $2,000 per month for Ph.D.'s.

 Primary Fields: Economics, Business, Accountancy, Finance, Computer Science.

 Secondary Fields: Philosophy, Psychology, Political Science, Sociology,
                   History of Science.
