Yes.  I'm thinking of what approach might best initiate that process.
An overture like Hawkins's may be a way to entice some to begin that

streets, right?  Only 15 attended Cbus' weekly anti-war vigil today.

Frankly,
the current lot regularly swallow a lot that the "left Democrats" of the
1960s would probably have found unacceptable.

Tasini, even on Israel in the midst of its Lebanon War this year,
sounded quite decent for a man of his political persuasion, certainly
deserving an overture from Hawkins.  Presumably, his voters are with
him on that or even to his Left?  Surely the GP wants to win them
over.
