It does happen. As of 1955 I was loyal enough to be attached to NSA
(Staff Sergeant, USAF). As of November 1964 I voted _for_ Johnson, not
merely against Goldwater. But after the Dominican Republic invasion in
the spring of '65 I never again voted for a DP candidate. In another 18
months I was beginning to consider myself a marxist. I can't be unique
-- no one is. But we can't predict the conditions under which such
things will happen.
