The PHP documentation sucks. Their annotation system has taken the
place of actual updates to the documentation. Some shitty
explanations in the documentation persist, despite being contradicted,
confused, or amplified by the annotations.
Annotation does not replace editing.
(I know this because I'm editing a book on PHP :-)
