One thing I see there is that perldoc needs improvement.
Wasn't tchrist working on that very thing? I know he's not been the
most present person, perl-wise, lately, but I seem to remember him
having *something* done, if not finished.
Did that just get abandoned? If so, should someone look at what was
done before diving into doing it all from scratch?
