The CVS version of PDL should build straight out of the box with MinGW (and
Visual Studio, also) on Win32 - at least it does for me. Let me know if you
find it doesn't for you.

Unfortunately the version currently found on CPAN (2.4.2) is pretty much
broken on Win32 - though I do have patched files that will enable it to
build. The ActiveState procedure for building ppm's is very much an
automated one - and I don't really think we can expect to see a Win32 ppm of
PDL at ActiveState until CPAN has a version that's *not* broken. Hopefully
that day won't be too far away.
