That sort of feedback is always helpful.
Maybe the best option would be to consolidate
the instructions by category as used in the
Install section of the PDL web site.  Then
you could send them to the perldl list for
others to reference.  They can be added to
the web pages as well.  I'm not sure we have
an active web maintainer at the moment....
