I see it differently. It shows that at least one user finds PDL slow
and hard to use compared to other products. The fact that the poster
did not articulate more specific issues with ease of use and speed
does not mean that his perceptions are wrong.

I think I recall hearing that at one point the CPAN install actually
depended on OpenGL. To the extent that this is correct, the poster's
concerns are entirely valid.
