Thanks for the reply Steph. It was the color of the wings that led me away
from webbing clothes moth. I would describe these moths as grey/brown with
an almost metallic quality. However, given the great variety in the living
world there may be webbing clothes moths that are grey.

Todd, they were in the bubble wrap that was protecting a framed reverse
glass painting. I'm told that the painting had been in the box for some
time but that may be speculation. The owner of the house was deceased and
the house was described as somewhat dirty; dust, cobwebs etc. The packing
has been disposed of and the box and painting are sealed in plastic until I
get an idea of what we are dealing with.
