I'm with Andy on this one, although I wouldn't expect this to apply to everyone. However there will be a lot of business/enterprise Linux users and I think PLUG would benefit from encouraging them to take part. > - On the whole the meeting didn't seem to offer me much for my time, > effort and cost. > This point summarises what I said quite nicely. For me, the reasons are slightly different - there were a lot of meetings I hosted that I had to change several things around in order to be able to host them, so now it's quite nice to "just fancy a night in" and not feel I have to go, which is a terrible admission and I'll work on changing it! I suspect that people like myself and Andy probably gain more from mailing lists than meetings (when something breaks at work I can't wait for the next monthly meeting to find a solution!) although I tend to use other lists than this one because I perceive that there is relatively little enterprise knowledge here, and that's probably not a fair perception. -- Mark Rogers // More Solutions Ltd (Peterborough Office) // 0844 251 1450 Registered in England (0456 0902) @ 13 Clarke Rd, Milton Keynes, MK1 1LG _______________________________________________ Peterboro mailing list [email protected] https://mailman.lug.org.uk/mailman/listinfo/peterboro
