In fact there are some reasons *to* do this :Just a question... Are there any reasons not to just take the source and compile it under RHEL 3.0? Or am I missing something? (We are about to install 3.0, so I would really like to know..)
- compiler optimizations specific for your platform - add or remove configurable options from the build
Ps : and in principle, the whole *point* of having an open source product is the freedom to get the source and build it yourself :-)
