It's *not* the poster's hardware that is at fault. He can save himself a lot of headaches and wasted time by looking at Bug # 84160 "I/O error while burning an .iso file with kernel >=2.4.20..." Actually, it's not just a problem burning just ISO files but *any* data files at *any* speed. Kindly add comments to the bug report, if applicable. You're not alone with this particularly stubborn and nasty bug. (Even erasing CDRW's and writing audio CD's is a lottery!)
